I'm having a total brain meltdown. Which Start Menu are you referring to?

The Windows logo bottom left : All Programs -> Muso 2 > Run in Debug Mode

I'm running Windows 8, no Start menu.

I can't support Windows 8 officially yet, but there must be an equivalent link put somewhere when you install Muso. How do you run it from Windows 8 ?

musolog sent. Sorry about that.

PS. Program shortcuts are created here in Windows 8: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Muso 2

Do you see any mention of your new album files in that log file?
I've asked on the squeezebox/LMS forums if there have been any schema changes in 7.7.3.

Is there any way for you to verify thet Q:\Cache\library.db (as Muso sees it) is pointing to the db file that LMS 7.7.3 is actually using? Check the timestamp on that file (and persist.db) perhaps. I'm wondering whether Muso is pointing to .db files that LMS 7.7.2 left behind and 7.7.3 is using others elsewhere - if so you may have to remap Q:\Cache.

I think you're right. So now I gotta find where 7.7.3 keeps its files.

Ah that would indeed explain it.
