Can't set filter when side panel not pinned.

When the side panel is not pinned I can 'clear' the filter succesfully, but the list of preset filter options (Years / Genres) does not appear when clicking in the box.
I need to pin the panel to access the presets.
Also, on the machine I use Muso with, the side panel opening / closing animation is rather slow. Could this animation be disabled with an option?
