Hello, I use Muso v. 2.6.54 but I can't upgrade to v. 2.6.57. It appears a window with a security alert in which Bitdefender tells that the installation has been blocked because it represents a serious risk for computer security and the editor is "unknown".
Of course I've already tried to temporary disable all the functions of Bitdefender, but without results.
Is there a way to solve this?
thanks
Pompeo
Bitdefender false positive
Re: Bitdefender false positive
Did you have bitdefender installed when you installed 2.6.54?
Re: Bitdefender false positive
There's no fundamental change between 2.6.53 and 2.6.57 that should cause any security system to have any more concern. You may have to ask bitdefender support how to bypass its restrictions when you want to accept the risks - the only risk in upgrading muso is if you have downloaded it from a non-official source.
Re: Bitdefender false positive
I've already asked to Bitdefender support and I've already followed their instructions, by temporary disabling all functions of the software, but without results.
There's no choice where it appears the message above, the installation is blocked and that's all.
I've always downloaded the various versions of Muso from your official site, never from non-official source.

Re: Bitdefender false positive
If it's bitdefender that is blocking the upgrade then I'd tell them their instructions didn't work. Muso itself can't bypass windows security. I can't purchase a digital certificate which might sidestep these warnings because the costs involved would mean Muso is no longer financially viable to develop & maintain - it's a very small scale project.
Re: Bitdefender false positive
With the latest Windows 10 April Update (v. 1803) the problem has been solved.
Now it still appears the warning message (see screenshot above), but there are two options ("to install anyway" and "not to install"), so it is possible to choose.
Now I've got the latest version (2.6.57) perfectly working.

Re: Bitdefender false positive
OK thanks for letting me know, and sorry for these troubles, but I really see no way round it.
