Hangs on deep or quick scan

Post by Kal Rubinson »

I successfully accessed one directory (containing only 16/44.1on my NAS and I uploaded a folder/album with DSF tracks. However, when I try to add another directory with several hundred DSF/DFF tracks, the scan hangs after about 200 of them and requires close/restart. Ideas?

If you could send me a muso2.log on trying another scan I'll see what I can find out - does the import seem to be running smoothly until the 200 or so?

To generate a muso2.log just turn on diagnostics via the little bug icon top right.

Here are 3 log files. The oldest largest was of a successful. The other two were unsuccessful resulting in MUSO hanging. When repeated, they each hung up on the same folder.

"The extension log is not allowed." How do I send you the logs?

It was a diagnostic log I needed (muso2.log), not an import log.

Yes it's definitely .aif files it has problems with, .aiff are OK (are these encoded differently fundamentally?). It did scan a few .aif files in the second log but it took 30+ seconds to read each file. Would you be able to send me these for analysis:

Z:\Classical CD\Turina\09 Ritmos, Op_ 43 _Fantasía coreografica__Preludio.aif
Z:\Classical CD\Turina\08 Sinfonía sevillana, Op_ 23_ Fiesta en San Juan de Aznalfarache.aif

NB. Unless there's a good reason, I would recommend you turn off the Option labeled "Check updated meta-data on Import (WARNING: can slow incremental update)" - as this IS slowing your imports down. If it doesn't scan the tags on the initial load it's unlikely to on an update.
