Currently have Muso 2.5 loaded. It will run HQPlayer through my Windows 10 computer and mouse.
I have been unable to get my iPhone or iPad to gain access to the address listed on Muso page - http://desktop- .... I have tried loading it with "local" and without, to no avail.
Any suggestions? In advance, thank you.

Remote on Windows 10 - firewall issue
Re: Remote on Windows 10
I suspect this might be a firewall issue - you may have to configure a rule to open up the specific port used. See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... s-firewall. Can you access the page on the host machine ?
Re: Remote on Windows 10
Hi:
Thanks for your suggestion.
I created a new rule for Port 5555 in Windows 10 firewall.
My remote address in Muso reads: http://desktop-elm14m1.local:5555/
I tried entering that on my iPhone. No access.
I then tried : http://desktop-elm14m1.5555/ No access.
Dang. Must looks perfect for what I want. Is there a setting I need to address to allow my iPhone to access the firewall?

Re: Remote on Windows 10
It's most likely a network issue rather than a software issue so I don't know the specific network tweak that you will require on your network. Are you able to temporarily disable the firewall to confirm that it is indeed the firewall?
Re: Remote on Windows 10
OK, with the firewall disabled, my iPhone will control HQPlayer.
Thanks.
Now, I guess I will have to learn what's amiss with my firewall so I can let Muso control.
Very nice.
At the moment, Muso is as much as I needed and . . . .
Again, very nice. I guess I will need to become an expert on the minutiae of my issue with firewalls.
Thanks.

If you do find the solution to your firewall issue, it would be useful if you could post it here as it may help others.
Re: Remote on Windows 10 - firewall issue
Will gladly provide my solution, once I obtain one.
Unfortunately computer audio, or at least Muso, runs through Windows.

Re: Remote on Windows 10 - firewall issue
I am having trouble opening a port in the Win10 firewall for Muso Remote. Unfortunately the muso wiki link to Microsoft with help on this, is no longer valid.
This is what I have tried:
- In Win10 Firewall, I created a New Inbound Rule for a Port
- selected TCP
- selected Specific Local Port: 5555
- selected Allow The Connection
- applied the rule to Private networks
- gave the rule an appropriate name
- I then repeated the process, but this time changed TCP to UDP resulting in 2 new rules.
- In muso I enabled Remote Control, then restarted muso.
- In a browser I entered the URL provided by muso for Remote Control
- The browser fails to connect to muso
- I then tried it on another device, with the same result
- Next I disabled the 2 new rules, but still could not connect
- Then I turned off the firewall and now I could connect OK
It appears that there is an existing rule in the Win10 Firewall that blocks connection to muso.
Can you help me please.

Re: Remote on Windows 10 - firewall issue
Could anyone who uses Muso with Remote on a day-to-day basis on Windows 10 confirm what exact firewall configuration is required to allow device connection?

Re: Remote on Windows 10 - firewall issue
the rule (TCP, UDP) port 5555 is created for both incoming and outgoing.
so it works!
