Why not Linux for this fantastic piece of software

Hi,
in the meantime many in the audio have experienced that with Linux which is specially improved for audio sound quality; one can get many improvements compared to windows. And Muso, due to the fact that it is focused only on audio, and who provides all what is needed for playing in comfortable manner, at least in my opinion should have a Linux counterpart. Many outside are using HQPlayer, and it’s combination with Muso is ideal. But when we try to use by example a Multichannel system with room correction filters with Linux, we can use HQPlayer-Linux desktop/embedded, and as comparable software we only have Roon. This is why I want to motivate the author to see if it is possible to make a Linux version of Muso!!! Many outside there will be happy ! And will have no problem to pay for it what is necessary.
Best regards
Siginitz, one of the many enthusiasts using Muso!!!!

Did you know you can run HQPlayer on Linux and control it from Muso running on Windows?

Hi,
No, I didn’t know that and also don’t know how to realise it! Am using Audiolinux and HQPlayer embedded on that OS.
In order to play with Muso how will I manage to do that? Will I have to install a second OS , I mean windows? Or will I have to use a second PC with windows? This in my opinion doesn’t make things easier!
Please explain how I will play Muso in windows and HQPlayer with Linux
Cheers

Yes you'd need a second PC running windows, connected to the remote HQPlayer running on Linux. It might not be easier in your instance but currently it's the only way to have HQPlayer on Linux controlled by Muso.

Ok, thank you for your prompt answer! And I think that you yourself gave a big argument for having Muso on Linux! Because the only way to control HQPlayer in Linux with Muso is to have a second PC with Windows. Terrible in my opinion.
Wouldn’t it be great to have only one OS, in this case Linux, and have both Muso and HQPlayer together? Many outside there prefer Linux software that is optimized for audio reproduction! And HQPlayer embedded works fine with Linux. And at the moment only Roon is an alternative. I tested Roon, and to be sincere, I prefer Muso, it’s so much comfortable , a great piece of software.
Can’t I animate you to think about it?
Cheers
Sigi

I suspect that re-engineering Muso for Linux is a major enterprise. However, is it possible for Muso to run under Wine (possibly with Mono)?

Yes that's the only possible way, Mark, being a .NET product, but I haven't found the time to look into the details yet, I'm in bug-fix mode only for the time being. I'd be willing to share the code for any other techies that have the time to experiment.
